Tiny, textured, and impossibly charming, this crochet lucky clover is one of those projects you’ll want to make over and over. The finished piece is stuffed and sewn together to create a little 3D charm that works beautifully as a keychain, bag accessory, or handmade gift. If you have been looking for a quick botanical project with a satisfying result, this is exactly what you need. So grab your hook and let’s get started!

This pattern might be a bit difficult for absolute beginners, I’d recommend you don’t start with this as your first to 10th project, while it’s not very difficult, it need an intermediate level crochet skills.
The Clover (Make 2)
Starting the Ring
MR, 8 sc into the ring, sl st to close. (8)
First Leaf
Ch 6. Working in the back bumps of the chain: (YO, insert hook in BB, YO and pull up a loop) 6 times. Insert hook into the first sc of the magic ring, YO and pull up a loop. You now have 7 loops on your hook. (YO and pull through 2 loops) × 6.
Ch 1. (Insert hook in BB, YO, pull up a loop) × 7. Insert hook into the same sc, YO and pull up a loop. (YO and pull through 2 loops) × 7.
(Insert hook in BB, YO, pull up a loop) × 7. Insert hook into the same sc, YO and pull up a loop. (YO and pull through 2 loops) × 7.
2 slst in back bump, ch2. (insert the hook in back bump, yo, pull a loop) x7, insert the hook into the next sc and yarn over and pull up a loop. (YO and pull through 2 loops) x7.
(insert the hook in back bump, yo, pull a loop) x7, insert the hook into the same sc and yarn over and pull up a loop. (YO and pull through 2 loops) x7.
Slst 1 in the back bump, (insert the hook in back bump, yo, pull a loop) x6, insert the hook into the same sc and yarn over and pull up a loop. (YO and pull through 2 loops) x6.
5 slst in the back bump, slst in the same sc.
This makes the first leaf out of four. Each leaf uses 2 sc from the magic ring (4×2=8). Repeat for the remaining 3 leaves.
The Tail
Ch 10, sk 1, work 9 sc in the back bumps while the yarn is still attached. Cut a long tail for sewing before fastening off.
Assembly
- Make 2 clovers following the pattern above.
- Place them together and sew around the edges, leaving a small opening.
- Fill with polyester fiber, then close securely.
- Attach a keychain ring if desired.
Final Thoughts
This lucky clover comes together quickly once you get the feel of the petals, and the back bump technique gives it a beautiful clean texture on every leaf. Make it in classic green for good luck, or experiment with shades to create your own little patch of clovers.
